Introduction: A Life of Light and Balance

All praise is due to Allah, who sent us the best of creation — our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), not as a guide for one tribe or one time, but as a mercy for all humanity. SubhanAllah!

Dear brothers and sisters, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

If someone asks any Muslim, “Who do you love the most after Allah?” — the answer comes instantly:
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

We’ve never seen his blessed face, nor lived in his time, yet our hearts are filled with love for him. We smile when we hear his name and dream of meeting him in Jannah. Why? Because love doesn’t need sight when you have his Sunnah.

But if we truly love him — shouldn’t we also strive to live like him?

Let’s explore the daily routine of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) — a lifestyle that brings peace to the heart, focus to the mind, and health to the body.

Before Fajr — The Blessed Beginning

The Prophet (ﷺ) would begin his day in the last third of the night, rising quietly for Tahajjud, a prayer of love and closeness to Allah.

He said:

“The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.” (Muslim)

And he also said:

“Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, so I may answer? Who will seek My forgiveness, so I may forgive?’” (Bukhari, Muslim)

Imagine — while the world sleeps, Allah Himself invites us to mercy.
What peace could be greater than answering that call?

After Fajr — Dhikr, Reflection, and Nabeez

After the Fajr prayer, the Prophet (ﷺ) would remain seated in remembrance of Allah until sunrise.

He said:

“O Allah, bless my nation in their early mornings.” (Tirmidhi)

He would then drink Nabeez — a Sunnah drink made by soaking dates or raisins overnight.
It’s refreshing, energizing, and naturally sweet — a perfect Sunnah alternative to coffee!

His Meals — Simple, Natural, and Full of Barakah

The Prophet (ﷺ) ate mindfully and with gratitude.
He said:

“The son of Adam fills no vessel worse than his stomach. It is enough to eat a few mouthfuls to keep his back straight.” (Tirmidhi)

He loved simple, pure foods — dates, barley bread, honey, milk, olive oil, and vinegar.
He preferred warm water, drank in three sips, and began with Bismillah and ended with Alhamdulillah.

Even eating was an act of worship for him — SubhanAllah!

Daytime — Work, Family, and Service

After sunrise, the Prophet (ﷺ) attended to daily duties — teaching, helping companions, visiting the sick, and assisting his family.

He said:

“The best among you are those who are best to their families.” (Tirmidhi)

He mended his clothes, milked his goat, and fixed things at home —
the greatest man on earth, yet the humblest in his house.

Midday Rest — The Sunnah Nap (Qailulah)

After Dhuhr, the Prophet (ﷺ) would take a short nap, known as Qailulah.

He said:

“Take a nap, for the devils do not nap.” (Tabarani)

Modern science confirms what Sunnah taught 1400 years ago —
a short nap improves memory, focus, and heart health.

Evening — Family, Dhikr, and Dua

After Asr or Maghrib, the Prophet (ﷺ) would spend time with his family — talking, smiling, and teaching them.

One of his beautiful evening supplications was:

“Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi, wal-hazani, wal-'ajzi, wal-kasali, wal -bukhli, wal-jubni, wa ghalabatar-rijal”
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debt, and the oppression of men.” (Bukhari)

SubhanAllah — how many of us suffer anxiety today?
The cure is already in his Sunnah.

Before Sleep — A Peaceful Night Routine

After Isha, the Prophet (ﷺ) would sleep early and advised others:

“Do not engage in conversation after Isha.” (Bukhari)

Before sleeping, he would:

· Perform wudu

· Recite Ayatul Kursi

· Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Naas (3 times)

· Lie on his right side and say:

“Bismika Allahumma ahya wa bismika amoot.”
“In Your name, O Allah, I live and die.” (Bukhari)

Even his sleep was worship — filled with remembrance of Allah.

The Secret of His Routine — Balance and Barakah

The Prophet (ﷺ) maintained constant connection with Allah throughout the day.
He made Istighfar more than 70 times daily, and his tongue was always busy with dhikr.

When leaving home — “Bismillahi tawakkaltu ‘alallah.”
When seeing something beautiful — “SubhanAllah.”
When hearing good news — “Alhamdulillah.”

This was his secret — a life of balance and remembrance.

Living the Sunnah in the Modern World

In our world of stress and distractions, we wake up to our phones before saying “Alhamdulillah.”
But what if we changed that?

· Try waking before Fajr and spending time in dua.

· Keep your phone away till after prayer.

· Eat simply, like the Prophet (ﷺ) — fewer dishes, no overeating.

· Help your family with small tasks — a Sunnah that fills your home with peace.

· Sleep early and wake early — your health and heart will thank you.

The Prophet’s lifestyle isn’t just spiritual — it’s scientifically perfect.

A Message of Love and Action

My dear brothers and sisters,
If we had the honor of living with the Prophet (ﷺ), wouldn’t we try to make him smile?

Then let’s live every day as if he is watching us —
so that on the Day of Judgment, we can say with joy:
“Ya RasulAllah, I tried to follow you.”

Start small — one Sunnah at a time.
Maybe Tahajjud once a week, or avoiding the phone after Fajr.
Every small act brings barakah and draws us closer to Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ).

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) didn’t just teach us how to pray —
he taught us how to live, eat, sleep, smile, forgive, and love beautifully.

May Allah grant us the ability to follow the Sunnah of His beloved Prophet (ﷺ),
fill our homes with peace, and our hearts with love for him.
Ameen.

If you truly love the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) —
then don’t just say it… live it.

JazakumAllahu Khairan for reading.
May your days be filled with light, barakah, and the peace of Sunnah.
